Worthy Spinoffs:

Howard Dean was a 2004 Democratic presidential candidate and current chairman of the DNC. On January 19, 2004, Dean lost the Iowa Caucus to rivals John Kerry and John Edwards. During the post-caucus, he made a speech that very likely ruined his chances at taking the Democratic nomination:

"Not only are we going to New Hampshire, Tom Harkin, we're going to South Carolina and Oklahoma and Arizona and North Dakota and New Mexico, and we're going to California and Texas and New York … And we're going to South Dakota and Oregon and Washington and Michigan. And then we're going to Washington, D.C., to take back the White House! Yeaaaaagggggh!!!"

A few months later, during the launch of YTMND, the speech was quickly picked up and parodies came up. Early parodies did not require much effort, and just involved putting Dean's popular "whitehouse" and "yeaggh" into various other quotes (like Bananaphone and Stapler).

Later Dean sites after the relaunch of YTMND in 2005 put in much more effort. There were remixes of his quote (e.g., Whitehouse rangers and Whitehouse Busters. Others were parodies of Outkast's "Hey Ya", the most popular one being a remix of the refrain featuring Lou Costello.

Even 2 years after the fad was popular, Dean sites have been popping up along YTMND. Many involving remixes and audio fixes of Dean's popular "yeagh" quote.

His famous 2004 "scream" after polling third in the Iowa caucuses has been widely parodied outside of YTMND as well. [1]
