this ytmnd has a lot of promise, but so far, most of these are pretty dumb. do not post YTMNDs with < 15k views and < *** Belgianrofliron

Belgianrofliron do not edit this wiki again, you are uninformed about the current state of "Forgot Poland" sites. Please check this site to understand: http://vote5polandfundamentals.ytmnd.com/ The old "Forgot Poland" fad is the one which you describe, it has almost nothing in common with the current fad. Many of its sites are unpopular among NARVs and people without a sense of humor due to their parody of YTMND. Sound is remixed in an extremely loud fashion, the image is purposely distorted, and as a running gag a site must beg for 5 star votes (or "vote 56"/"vote %!"). The common reaction to these sites causes them to not get more than 15k views and rarely more than 4 stars. BTape

ok. now that i look at that, yea, i realize im under-knowledgeable about the topic. apologies.Belgianrofliron

Belgian - no offense, but I've seen your registration date and I've seen your edits around here, and I'm not sure you're much of an authority yet on what a 'fad' is and isnt. It has nothing to do with site views, it has nothing to do with site score. Its simply a large number of sites created by a variety of unique users. The "MAAARRGE!!!!" sites based on that Youtube video for example, is a mini-fad on the way to full on fad level, even though few of them have many views, and they have not acheived acceptance by most of YTMND MasterSitsu

I just wanted to leave a note saying Good Job Guys, you have my support. I'd make an FPA site but it'd probably end up something you guys dont want it to be and next thing you know the NARVs will have turned it into NEDM II, which i dont think is your goal. is it?MasterSitsu

I've always be

en curious to see what a MasterSitsu Polend site would look like, but I always figured you get 300 PMs a day asking you to make a YTMND about (insert miscellaneous topic) so I never dared to ask. - Doomrock

Wait, doesn't this page seem a bit... Biased to you? I think so anyway. There's probably a lot of people out there that absolutely hate this fad. Gerkuman 12:42, September 6, 2006 (CDT)

First: It's not a fad. Second: I can understand why you feel that way about the article. People tend to not like them if they don't get it, or don't understand the story behind why these exist. However, people that hate noise sites can easily avoid Poland sites, they have indicators in the title that would tell anyone that's spent more than a day on YTMND that they don't want to click it. Besides, this isn't Wikipedia. Poland isn't going to call and complain. I don't know if that helps. - Doomrock

Honestly, it's unfair to say that people who don't find it funny just "don't get it" or are NARVs. I think it's a normal human reaction to not laugh the 500,000,000th time you see a site with blaring loud sound and an idiotically cropped picture. If the fad's not funny on the 500,000,000th time, then the parody of the fad shouldn't be funny on that number either. FPA member seem to think that what they're doing is much more brilliant than it really is, but honestly, if your aim is to prevent crappy sites from being made and crappy losers from registering, you can't possibly prevent those things by DOING THEM YOURSELF, no matter how "satirical" or "brilliantly parodied" you think you're being. It's just repetetive at this point, FPA has been doing the same thing for far too long. Even if you call it an "anti-fad," the fact that the same idea (LOUD SOUND AND BAD IMAGES) has been used so many times does in fact make it a fad. I won't touch the article out of courtesy, but I think the FPA could have a little more of the same courtesy for people they claim "just don't get it." Maybe it's just not good "satire." - Sestet

I dunno, we could always tell the Polend Forgetter's side of the story. They're probably foaming at the mouth anyway due to lack of Polend to the brain. BTape 15:19, September 11, 2006 (CDT)

Personally I think it's the lack of voting 5 that does it. HeatherChandler 15:44, September 13, 2006 (CDT)

Their side of the story is pretty much always something along the lines of "ear rape + poland = fail" which seems to be a popular comment. If we wrote that in I think it would undermine the article itself. - Doomrock 9/12/06

Anyone else notice that the Forgot Poland Tool Box Zip file is corrupted?

I had the same problem at one point. Save it and open it with WinRAR and it should work just fine. Doomrock 12:51, November 27, 2006 (CST)

What's the definition for 'members' of the polend army? Is there a certain amount of sites required?

You just gotta add yourself, thats what I did. Ghcghcghc 17:55, April 6, 2007 (CDT)

Yeah, not much of a criteria there. There are names here of people I've never even seen post on the forum.Doomrock 12:00, September 13, 2007 (CDT)

Suggestions for the tool kit

Heh, I downloaded the toolkit and I added a few sounds for myself. Here they are:

  1. "AND THE DRAGON COMES IN THE NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!" Strong Bad screaming at the top of his lungs. From Strong Bad email "Guitar".
  2. "banana banana banana terra-cotta banana terra-cotta terra-cotta pie!" Serj Tankian repeating this line from SOAD's "Vicinity of Obscenity" loudly.
  3. "Cruel Angel Thesis" the Neon Genesis Envangellon theme. Included because I heard it in Kacen's "NEON GENESIS POLANDGELLON (VOAT 5)".
  4. "REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" (v2) Chester Bennington screaming at the top of his lungs in Linkin Park's "Given Up".
  5. "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" Screamy lyric from "Sabotage" by the Beastie Boys.
  6. "Oh my god, Nintendo Wii!" found on a dumb YTMND I saw.
  7. "BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH..." from "One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest".
  8. "GOOOOOOOAL!" from http://futbolgoal.ytmnd.com . Kinda reminds me of Dennis Bergkamp.
  9. "THESE ARE MAI MACHINEZZZ!" from Scrubs
  • "SANTA! OH MY GOD!" Buddy's ecstatic response into Santa coming from Elf.

Stmp made this list.

Oh, and BTW, if you want to add your suggestions, put em' here.

%30 percent of those suggestions are good, the rest are not. --Kassius 01:41, November 21, 2007 (CST)

Can you tell me which of the %70 isn't? Stmp 13:10, November 22, 2007 (CST)

Or better yet, tell me the %30 that's good. Like "This could be used, this couldn't, blah blah blah..." like that. Stmp 12:12, December 2, 2007 (CST)

Original Poland site swapped?

If you go to http://poland.ytmnd.com now you get something totally different. Stmp 14:50, November 22, 2007 (CST)
