Goal of the wiki

Provide people useful information about YTMND.

Replace the forums as a place to get help and answer frequently asked questions.

What the wiki isn't for

To promote:

•YTMND Forums or other forums.

•The soundtrack - (ditto)
•Specific people who aren't of importance or noteworthy.

While it's okay to have information about any of the above topics, they should not be highlighted or on the front page.

If you want to make a page about yourself, create an account, and add stuff to your userpage.

What can I do to help?

•Get any useful information off the HELP and FAQ forums and migrate it here and format it properly.
•Start a media sightings area.
•Write a cleaner history.
•Write some useful articles (anything from setting up quicktime and firefox to commonly used programs for sound and image editing etc).

This will never get anywhere.

Special:Allpages

While this wiki is a great idea, it's clear we have a horrible ratio of sysops:contributors:vandals. Start waving the white flag, nigga stole our wiki. --Nintendorulez 21:14, 22 April 2006 (CDT)

Yes, I am a great user. And I will get blocked then come back because I will not let this wiki go down. A-The-thing 18:22, 23 April 2006 (CDT)

Why was I banned? I never took part in any of that Alol crap.. I was RVing articles that they vandalised. - stylesr

Why not set the Wiki so only registered users can edit. There's a load of info at http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Preventing_Access --LBMixPro 18:27, 14 May 2006 (CDT)

Wow

I love the new skin. --Stylesr 20:38, 22 May 2006 (CDT)

Typo on the front page

There should be no comma between "film" and "Finding Forrester". I know this seems anal, but it does look kind of bad to have a mistake on the first sentence of the front page. :) - Furrykef 23:47, 4 June 2006 (CDT)

Fixed. --It's Smiddle, LOL 08:22, 6 June 2006 (CDT)
Well, now you got typos in the second sentence. "It's" should be "Its", and there should be a comma after "dog". ;) - Furrykef 22:06, June 11, 2006 (CDT)

"Seeing that he had something going with the format"

I was under the impression YTMND was created because Max had a listing for all the spin-offs that got too large. Amirite? Tokakeke 23:23, 5 June 2006 (CDT)

Okay, I changed it. --LBMixPro<lol, talk page> 20:35, June 12, 2006 (CDT)

Userboxes

I like userboxes. Maybe we should have userboxes? like Wikipedia? --It's Smiddle, LOL | What is Talk Page? 10:57, June 22, 2006 (CDT)

NO! That's a Wikipedia tradition, just like NPOV. But userbars look like a good idea. --LBMixPro<lol, talk page> 16:40, June 22, 2006 (CDT)

Lowercase templates not working

Lowercase template references don't work on some sites, like this one: http://www.ytmnd.com/wiki/index.php?title=Hall_of_Fame&oldid=7263. Anyone know what the deal is? --Liface 01:38, June 24, 2006 (CDT)

Never mind, I guess I'm going to redirect all lowercase templates to a version with a capital letter. --Liface 01:45, June 24, 2006 (CDT)
Okay, this still isn't working for all new revisions, just the old ones.
It's a feature that's been activated, but I'm not liking it. I'm already renaming uppercase templates to lower. --LBMixPro<lol, talk page> 01:56, June 24, 2006 (CDT)

This page makes no sense

For example, "YTMND is a site created for the purpose of furthering the creativity of its users. Its inspiration, You're the man now dog, was founded in 2001 after visionary Max Goldberg saw a commercial for the 2000 film Finding Forrester. Seeing that Max couldn't organize the many spin-offs the site, he created YTMND"

Spin-offs of what? You never explained about yourethemannowdog.com so this is incomprehensible. Also, spelling and grammar are heinous. Lina 02:15, June 24, 2006 (CDT)
