There is a feature on YTMND where users can Customize their front page. This option will let you change any of the nine boxes and which type of filtered list you would like to use. You can change the box layout of the front page by clicking the Customize your front page link at the bottom of the front page. There are 33 box listings you can use. They are:
Sponsorships today, this week, this month, or all time
Top rated today, this week, this month, or all time
Top viewed today, this week, this month, or all time
Most commented on today, this week, this month, or all time.
Random YTMNDs
User favorites of today, this week, this month, or all time.
Most voted on today, this week, this month, or all time
Holiday YTMNDs (Available, but no sites will load)
Least voted on ever
You can choose between showing 5, 10, 15, or 20 sites with each list. You can have up to five boxes on each side. The Sponsorship box is the only list that has to be used and cannot be moved to another location. It will only appear on the top left side.
How to create a new template: After you click on the Customize your front page text you will be taken to the layout with a series of drop boxes. Use the drop boxes to select which list you want and where you want it to appear. If you do not want a box in that area, then select NONE. After you have designed your new custom template, enter the name of the template in the SAVE THIS TEMPLATE box and click SAVE. Your new layout will save under the “Your Customized Template” section. Naming a template identically to a template you already own will overwrite it. PLEASE NOTE: This change will only last until you exit YTMND. It will revert back to its old layout until you change the default template. To pick a default layout go back to the Customize your front page side and select which template you want with the CHOOSE A DEFAULT TEMPLATE dialog box then click choose. Now your new layout will load every time you visit YTMND. To delete a template, select it in the DELETE TEMPLATE dialog box then click delete.
If you get a Confirm warning asking you if you are sure you want to navigate away from this page, click cancel. The sites will then load. If you click OK you'll be taken to another page.
There are five pre-made templates you can select: default, old front page, and Basics by Date (today, this week, this month, forever).
Default is how the front page is currently arranged.
Left side: Sponsorships this week [10], Up and Coming [10], Top rated this week [10]
Right side: Recently Created [10], Featured Users [10], Top Viewed today [10}
The Old Front Page layout is:
Left Side: Sponsorships this week [5], Moderators Favorites [5], Up and Coming [15], Moderators Favorites [5], Random YTMNDs [10]
Right Side: Top rated of all time [5], Recently Created [5], Top Viewed Today [15], Hall of Fame [5]
The Basics by Date (pick by today, this week, this month, or forever) layout is:
Left Side: Sponsorships [10], Most commented on [5], Up and Coming [5], Most voted on [10], Top Viewed [10]
Right Side: Recently Created [10], Top Rated [5], Users Favorites of [5], Hall of Fame [5]
